Sometimes I Do Stupid Things

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein

Stupid- (adjective) tediously dull, especially due to lack of meaning or sense (thank you dictionary.com)
That's what you read when you look up the word "stupid" in the dictionary. Until now. Open up your dictionaries again. Does it still say that? I didn't think so. What does it say now? Nothing? Is there anything by the word? Just a picture? Of me?
That's what I thought.

Would you like to know why my picture is there? I'm going to tell you anyway. I did something tonight. Something really, really stupid. Something I was warned about, told not to do. But did I listen to the warning? Of course not. I thought I was getting around it, escaping it. On a made-up technicality. So here's my story.

As you know from my previous post, I've been watching the seasons of One Tree Hill straight through. Well, tonight my dear friends A, L, and J warned me not to watch the prom episode of the 4th season tonight when I returned to my condo. They thought it was the next episode that I had to watch. I was disappointed that I wouldn't get to watch an episode before going to bed, which I like to do, but I knew I should listen to them. They know watching scary things at night really, really, really freaks me out, and apparently that episode is scary. They're good friends; they have my back. So I got home and decided to see if they were right, if the prom episode was next. It wasn't, I was happy to find out. So I watched the next episode. After finishing it, I checked the scene selection for the next two, saw that neither of them were prom, and watched those two. Then I checked the scenes for the last one on the disc, and it didn't look like they made it to prom, so I figured that one was safe, too. So I watched it. As I neared the end, I realized they had to mean the episode when they are actually at prom, not this one where they were just getting ready for it. About 20 seconds before the episode ends, Peyton answered the door, because Lucas was picking her up for prom. Standing on her doorstep was not Lucas, but Psycho Derek. Damn.

I will now always listen to them when they warn me, and not use a technicality like "they aren't actually AT prom" so I can watch a show at night. So now I sit here, writing this, with my taser and an episode of Friends playing in the background to calm me. I shall now try to go to sleep, with the comforts of my rosary and taser close by, and Friends playing in the background.

I hope you have a wonderful night. I hope I do too.

God bless you all!!

You know I love you,
H

And When You Find the One, Never Let Them Go

"Men always want to be a woman's first love - women like to be a man's last romance." - Oscar Wilde

Every little girl dreams about her wedding day. The veil, the flowers, the pretty dress...but most of all, the "Prince Charming" waiting for her at the end of the aisle. It's instilled in us from when we are very young: we want to find true love, find the man of our dreams who loves us with all of his heart and wants to spend the rest of his life with us. And once we find him, we know our lives will never be the same.

Which is why I know, from this moment on, my life will never be the same. Why, you may ask? Because I've found him, the man of my dreams. He's funny, he's charming, he's sweet, he's great at basketball, and he's all mine. I've fallen in love with him. I excitedly come home from class every afternoon, just waiting to see him, to spend time with him, and to learn more about him. Because, seriously, everything I learn about him just makes me love him even more. I'm a lucky girl.

So, who is this mysterious dream guy of mine? I'm sure you're curious. I know I would be. Well, here's a picture of him for you so you can see just how dreamy he is.

Nathan Scott from One Tree Hill. If only he was real, right girls? Oh well. A girl can dream.

Either way, I know I'll find my guy one day. We all will. But for now, I can patiently wait and enjoy being independent. It's a great thing, independence.

Until next time...

You know I love YOU,
H
